Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides services through its three hospitals in Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester. We provide all general hospital services for planned and emergency care as well as specialist services.

We are an expanding trauma and orthopaedic unit with an aim of creating a Centre of Excellence for orthopaedic patients at HHFT. Come and join us and be part of this exciting transformation journey.

Our D3 Ward at Hampshire Hospitals is looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join us to provide the highest quality care to our patients. You will be part of a team of supportive nurses who possess excellent communication, organisational and clinical skills and are a fun team too! Whether you are newly qualified, return to practice or looking for a different opportunity we are keen to hear from you.

We can offer a supportive and friendly environment led by a Clinical Matron and supported by a Senior Sister and Educational Nurse Practitioner. The Clinical leads work alongside staff, supporting them to meet their potential. Day to day, the unit is led by an experienced team of junior sisters /charge nurses.

We provide regular teaching sessions and you will be encouraged and enabled to attend an orthopaedics course which includes:

- Best practice in fracture management
- Overview of the Musculoskeletal system
- Management of patients with spinal injury
- Managing patients with casts and traction
- Pain management (including PCAs and epidural management).

All newly qualified nurses are allocated a place on our preceptorship programme as soon as they start. The Preceptorship Programme offered at Hampshire Hospitals is an excellent opportunity to begin your nursing career within a friendly, supportive and caring environment. You will be given study leave, a named experienced nurse mentor to support you through the programme and a dedicated facilitator who oversees the programme to ensure you receive continuous support and learning opportunities. .

Do you need to relocate to take up this role?
For candidates who need to move to the local area to take up this opportunity to work with us, the trust may provide single occupancy accommodation in Basingstoke for your first 3 months of joining.
This is to allow you to settle into your new role as well as the local area whilst making longer term accommodation arrangements.

The trust also covers NMC registration fees for newly qualified nurses for the first year.
