Are you a highly motivated and dynamic Junior Doctor looking for your next career move?

We are offering a good opportunity to undertake training in General Medicine with an interest in Rehabilitation / Care of the Elderly. The post is for 12 months initially with possible extension.

The successful candidate will take part on the acute medical rota. The post will be mainly based at Congleton War Memorial Hospital, a community hospital which offers rehabilitation for patients with a varied number of conditions (post - operative, following acute illness). On calls will be undertaken in Macclesfield District General Hospital.

We recognise that more and more junior doctors are taking time off before commencing Specialty Training to undertake Trust Grade posts. Below we have put together a wide range of options that you may just find attractive:-
  • You will be provided with an e-portfolio for the time you are in the Trust.
  • You will be allocated both an educational and clinical supervisor.
  • Up to 15 days study leave per year guaranteed.
  • Free in-house courses such as ILS / ALS
  • Time and opportunity to explore different specialties

These posts are Trust Grade posts and therefore not recognised for training. However they do provide valuable clinical exposure and a range of training opportunities

The basic salary for this role is outlined above based on a 40 hour working week. In addition, there will be enhancements for additional rostered hours (over 40), night rate hours and weekend working allowance in line with the relevant Nodal Point under the new Junior Doctor Contract 2016 pay scales. The value of the enhancement for the role can be provided upon request, however, this is subject to any future rota changes in line with service need.

This post is Fixed Term for 12 months
