We have an exciting opportunity within our Cardiff Head office for a Trainee Accountant - Self Billing to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the group's self-bill customer transactions and more complex billing arrangements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated individual as the role incorporates a funded ACCA training contract which will be made available upon successful completion of a probationary period.

Your responsibilities will include:

You will report directly to the Finance Manager, with significant input to the Credit Control Manager. As a Trainee with focus on self-billing transactions you will need to:

·Ensure all transactions from self-bill customers are entered accurately and in a timely manner to both the self-bill platform and our own operational and accounting systems

·Ensure all transactions from e-invoicing customers are entered accurately and in a timely manner to both the client platform and our own operational and accounting systems

·Carry out audits on old debt and put a plan in place to resolve any issues

·Be a key point of contact for the New Directions sales managers and teams

·Be a key point of contact to external clients - both customers and self-bill platform providers

·Analyse processes and suggest improvements

·Understand the self-bill requirements, to include accounting and tax implications

Experience/attributes required:

·Excellent communicator; both written and verbal

·Minimum of a 2:1 degree in Accounting or a related field

·Demonstrable interest in pursuing a career in Accounting

·Confident to liaise with individuals at all levels of business

·Strong attention to detail

·Proficient Microsoft Excel skills

·Experienced with the use of accounting and IT systems

·Highly organised and methodical

·Ability to work independently and to deadlines

·Excellent problem solver
