We are now recruiting for a highly motivated and professional Junior Level Solicitor / Legal Executive to join our busy and well established in-house legal team to review and provide advice in respect of commercial contracts. You will be seen as the first point of contact for the team and will be expected to deal, field and/or escalate enquiries as appropriate.

The Junior Legal Counsel Role:

Reporting to the General Counsel, this is an interesting role which will require a “hands-on” and flexible approach.

You will be an exceptional communicator with the ability to build excellent working relationships across the wider business as well as working with external institutions and customers. In order to develop yourself and others, you will be helpful and prepared to assist your team members as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Review, amend and draft various types of commercial agreements including IT agreements, cloud agreements, master service agreements, professional service agreements, service level agreements, supplier agreements and various terms and conditions;
+ Review and check NDA’s;
+ Champion the document management system and ensure all new matters are recorded in the system as well as uploading all existing matters;
+ Managing contract registers;
+ Process documents for signatures;
+ Conduct legal research;
+ Assist the team in providing advice to the company on commercial contracts and other ad-hoc advice;
+ Assist where required putting in place systems, processes, policies and procedures and subsequently maintain the same;
+ Manage and escalate any legal risk or employment law issues to General Counsel;
+ Assist with the acquisition of new companies and harmonising contracts;
+ Providing general and administration support to the team
+ Amend legal documents as necessary and provide comparisons of changes
+ Tracking outstanding legal items for the team
+ Scanning, filing and organizing documents in electronic/ physical filing system for team members

Skills & Experience:

+ The ideal candidate will be a qualified Legal Executive or Solicitor with solid commercial contracts experience (NQ +), gained in-house or within private practice;
+ Procurement and Tender experience is highly desirable;
+ Excellent communication skills both oral and written;
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work cross functionally and interact confidently with multiple stakeholders;
+ Excellent planning and organisational skills;
+ The ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and work to tight deadlines;
+ Accuracy and attention to detail;
+ The ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
+ The ability to work calmly under pressure;
+ Highly proficient in MS packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; have experience or be willing to learn to use a document management system
+ Experience of Adobe Pro and Docusign
+ Team player – understands the importance of teamwork;


Location: Based from our UK Headquarters at Wisborough Green, Billingshurst RH14 (Guildford 30 minutes, Horsham 20 minutes).
Hours: 9.00am to 5.30pm / Monday to Friday. (37.5hrs per week)
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience.
