The Requirements
We're looking for a Senior Technology Auditor to join us in Edinburgh
  • This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our Internal Audit function as a Senior IT Auditor in our Core Banking Technology, Shared Services, and Data team
  • You'll have opportunities to work on high profile audit engagements, influence senior stakeholders and coach and develop less experienced members of the team
  • The role will give you a platform to further develop your knowledge and experience, while we support you with your personal development
  • You'll be part of Internal Audit wide initiatives, and help to evolve Internal Audit to remain fit for the future

What you'll do

In this role, you'll provide challenging insight and support on key IT audits covering our core banking applications.

You'll work with team members on audits while taking on full responsibility in delivering your scope areas, and engaging with stakeholders across the bank. Where appropriate you'll take the lead on engagements, providing assurance and independent audit opinions.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Engaging with business stakeholders to gain an understanding of key business risks to inform the risk assessment and audit plan
  • Contributing to audit engagement planning to identify key risks and controls, and process mapping and documenting audit test work papers to a high quality standard
  • Supporting the audit lead to present the audit findings in a high quality report to provide timely insight to the key business stakeholders over the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment
  • Supporting continuous risk assessment and monitoring activities

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with technology application audit experience, giving you a sound of understanding of good risk management practices and knowledge of key IT and business risks.

A professional financial qualification such as ACA or ACCA, and an IT auditing qualification such as CISA, would be preferred.

We'll also be looking for you to demonstrate:
  • Excellent communication skills paired with the ability to translate complex concepts in a clear and concise way
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise what's important
  • Knowledge of financial services organisations and some of the products and services we have to offer
  • A passion for personal development to build knowledge and experience to apply on subsequent audit engagements
  • Confidence in managing relationships with business stakeholders
