Senior Project Manager, Basingstoke. Salary £Competitive.

My client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their Projects Team based in Basingstoke

The right candidate for this role will have experience of managing high value Software /Hardware Projects.

Managing a team of around 25 with a project budget of between £5-10M, the Senior Projects Manager will lead some of the largest, most complex and highest value changes within the organisation and will be able to demonstrate:

Influencing and managing stakeholders in order to encourage active support and mitigate potential oppositions

Establishing project governance that enables the right stakeholders to make timely decisions about risks, issues and obstacles that require stakeholder intervention and could adversely impact project delivery.

Establishing project tolerances and managing the creation and delivery of project outputs within these tolerances (time, cost and quality)

Eliminating ambiguity around project scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources and risk - both forecasting during up-front planning phases and then managing throughout the duration of the project

Planning and monitoring the project, including the production of progress reports, board reports etc. against plan

Anticipating and managing project-level issues and risks with appropriate management /mitigation plans as required

Where required preparing and presenting materials relating to the project either for informational purposes or to illicit key decisions from Stakeholders

Directing and motivating the Project Team

The Senior Project Manager will have the ability to influence and motivate others, mobilise teams and lead through setting a strong example and being able to give clarity of direction and purpose andhave excellent task management skills, ability to prioritise one's own workload, and the workload of others, based on tactical and strategic business priorities

The Senior Project Manager will also have exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate with authority both verbally and in writing at all levels of the business and across different cultures; able to tailor communication appropriately to the requirement of diverse audiences and will also be experienced in working within a remote and matrix environment, coordinating resource effort across different time zones

As a Senior Project Manager you will be educated to at least degree level standard and a recognised Practitioner level PPM and have experience of working internationally.
