We are always looking for enterprising and innovative approaches to the way we provide our services. We are a national centre for telemedicine and introduced telehealth to the UK offender healthcare sector and also provide the service to patients in their care homes. Community matters to us and we are supported by 400 dedicated volunteers and have strong links with Bradford University, Craven College and Leeds City College to ensure we inspire the workforce of the future.

We want to attract staff who embrace our 'Right Care' behaviours of compassion, a commitment to quality of care and working together for patients - we want to make these part of our DNA.

This is a unique opportunity for a creative and forward-thinking physiotherapist to be part of a team establishing a therapy service in a new, purpose-built rehabilitation facility. Within the role there is scope to develop leadership skills and innovative ways of working.

To fulfil the requirements of the post you will need to have community therapy experience and a broad clinical knowledge and skill base. Your post will be based at the new Valley View facility in Keighley where you will be planning and implementing goal-orientated, person-centred rehabilitation for patients in up to 30 beds. This may involve visits to patients' own homes. Valley View also has provision for winter escalation bed and shares its site with an Extra Care facility, Fletcher Court. These services are separately staffed.

You will work collaboratively with occupational therapists employed by the Local Authority to build and develop a cohesive Therapy Team at Valley View. The Team will play a key part within the MDT and the wider community. The role will include helping to embed a culture of rehabilitation within Valley View and training and supporting care assistants to deliver elements of the rehab plan.

Valley View will be an outward-facing hub for community activity, encouraging and welcoming community groups and services to have a presence in the facility and be a part of its development. The Therapy Team will support and contribute to this development.

Supervision and line management will be provided for you by the Aire/Wharfe Community Therapy Team Leader. The Aire/Wharfe Team is based at The Oaks in Keighley and is one of three Community Therapy Teams that cover all localities within Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. You will be expected to undertake the supervision/development of others including Band 5 physiotherapists, support workers and students as required.

Access to own transport is required.

At Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Therapy Services are creative and well-respected for their contribution to the health and well-being of patients and carers. We will offer you a friendly and supportive working environment, a commitment to personal and professional development and a strong professional governance structure.
