£28,000 - £45,000


Monday - Friday (9am-5pm)

Pact are delighted to be working with a fantastic Financial Services company who are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join the business on a permanent basis. You will work with the business to develop and embed the compliance and operational risk frameworks and communicate a positive compliance and risk culture.

Role Overview:

This is an exciting new role within the Risk & Compliance team where you will play an important part in the development of the function, bringing fresh thinking, best practice and appropriate challenge, contributing to the growth and future success of the business.

This position will be supporting the Head of Risk and Compliance and requires a good understanding of pension administration operations and associated processes.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Head of Risk and Compliance to develop and embed the compliance framework, developing a positive compliance culture
  • Create a risk-based compliance monitoring plan, to ensure that business activities comply with relevant legislation and regulation, discussing findings/recommendations for changes stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of any required changes
  • Responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out to a high standard and completed in a timely manner
  • Produce management information to a high standard by the required timeframe for submission to the relevant Committee and/or Board
  • Oversee that all compliance related policies are reviewed and approved on at least an annual basis
  • Keep own knowledge up to date on legal and regulatory changes and support any relevant training initiatives
  • Working with the Legal and Regulatory Change group to ensure that the business is compliant with all regulatory and statutory requirements, assessing the impact and raising awareness with the business teams and other stakeholders
  • Provide regulatory input to proposed projects and business activities
  • As part of the Risk and Compliance team, act as a central point of reference, deal with complex cases and provide advice on regulatory compliance matters
  • Provide support to induction and other training including supporting new or updated corporate/internal policies
  • Build a strong working relationship with the Risk and Compliance team
  • Any other duties as required to support the Head of Risk and Compliance and its stakeholders.

Essential Experience/Skills:
  • Proven ability of understanding compliance and risk functions including legal and regulatory obligations within the pensions industry.
  • Have significant experience of working within the pension sector.
  • Highest standard of honesty, integrity and conduct
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to produce output to high standard within a specific timeframe
  • Experience of producing and delivering MI to senior management
  • Ability to use own iniative and consider the wider implications
  • Ability to interpret rules, regulations, statutes and policies and to identify potential problems
  • Proactive and an enquiring approach
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills, administration skills and organisation/planning skills

  • Relevant compliance, risk and pensions qualifications eg ICA Diploma in Compliance, Risk and Governance.
