About the Job - Project Manager
As Project Manager you will take responsibility for implementing and delivering various client projects within an Outsourced Operation (predominantly Financial Services Sector).
The Project Manager is also responsible for the definition and implementation of processes, documentation and tools to gather the internal or external client's requirements effectively in order to deliver projects smoothly. You will also own and run project reviews, ensuring lessons learned and best practices are absorbed and integrated into business and project processes.
Project Managers also ensure that risk within the project management team is effectively managed and that all FCA and other regulatory requirements are met, ensuring the business remains fully compliant at all times and a culture of Treating Customers Fairly is Embedded and paramount throughout the team.
These is a business focused, client facing Project Management role, so successful candidates should have a background in managing and delivering client projects. You will also work closely with all divisions of the business to ensure delivery of projects and programmes to agreed criteria of cost, time and quality. As Project Manager, you will provide essential progress and status reporting across the portfolio of projects, highlighting risks and issues for escalation and will also be responsible for definition and implementation of processes and running project reviews to ensure best practices are being absorbed.
The Candidate - Project Manager
The successful Project Manager will be customer focused and will have strong client management experience, ideally gained in the Financial Services Sector. A background of working for an Outsourcing Organisation or Consultancy could also be useful. A strong business focus and the ability to engage with key stakeholders across all aspects of my client's business from technology through to servicing is essential. The Project Manager should also have excellent interpersonal skills and will be a self-starter who can hit the ground running.
Prince 2 accreditation (or equivalent) is essential as is proven experience of building client relationships at all levels together with the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered in line with the defined requirements. Project planning experience using MS Project is also required as is demonstrable experience of managing and delivering projects in line with cost, quality and time constraints.
A working knowledge of Agile methodology would be advantageous as would exposure to ISO/CMMi frameworks.
Key skills for these roles are:
Strong proven Project Management experience
Stakeholder Relationship Management skills
Experience in maintaining Resource Plans
A background in implementing client projects for an outsourcing organisation would be advantageous.
