As a multi-talented communications professional, you'll join our amazing, friendly Digital Engagement community. We're the communications specialists responsible for telling the story of DWP's huge digital transformation, a once-in-a-generation revolution of government products and services.

You and your role

As a Digital Internal Communications Manager, you'll manage our communications strategy, agenda and delivery for one of our major Digital directorates. You'll define a compelling story about your directorate's work, engaging a variety of internal and external audiences using audience insight, channel expertise and creative communications skills. This role has a strong focus on internal communications within a matrix organisation, but you'll also provide strategic support and delivery for DWP Digital's external communications and marketing. You'll work as a communications adviser in your part of the organisation and with the Digital Engagement community elsewhere in DWP Digital on creative, joined-up, strategic communications.

Your expertise is crucial in invigorating and galvanising colleagues regarding the excellent and crucial work they've done and are doing, inspiring them with narratives that help them stay motivated, and helping them to evangelise about the great goings-on around DWP Digital and in your directorate specifically.

What are we looking for?
  • You're a communications guru: Proven effectiveness as a Communications Manager, ideally with experience of delivering successful internal and external communications on behalf of a large, complex organisation so as to gather and analyse colleague's feedback to better understand the context for internal communications, identify appropriate channels to make improvements to ensure communications are timely and relevant
  • You're a steady hand on the tiller: Being able to understand the impact and priority for communicating changes that affect colleagues in the directorate
  • You build big relationships: Ability to develop strong strategic relationships and networks within team and across the wider organisation and develop a clear understanding of delivery responsibilities and priorities to create and deliver joined-up communication products
  • You can creatively convey a compelling story: You'll use brilliant content skills to help bring complex issues to life in a human and engaging way. You'll lead by example by demonstrating professional-standard copywriting ability and expertise in design and layout skills

Where will you work?

You'll join our team in Blackpool. Accessible from across the North West, our Blackpool hub is located within easy reach of the M55 and has-on site parking. The hub has gym facilities, wellness and relaxation zones, collaboration spaces, coffee shops a canteen and modern office layout.
