Web Operations Engineer

Are an experienced Operations Engineer with solid experience managing the build and release of CI/CD? Are you looking for a new challenge, where you can bring ideas to the table and use the technologies you feel best suit the project? If so, this could be the right opportunity for you.

My Fintech customer, based in the centre of Cardiff, has a new opportunity available for a Web Operations Engineer/Manager to join their thriving business. This is a key hire for the client and an important growth area for the business.

As the Web Operations Engineer/Manager, you will ultimately own the development and build pipeline. Focussing on the build process, environment management and testing. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to -

·Coordinate the deployment of web applications across internal and external suppliers

·Build a strong rapport with key stakeholders internally to produce a consistent approach on integrated projects. Monitor, isolate, escalate, and repair problems

·Measuring the impact of changes to content, applications, networks and infrastructure

·Conduct performance monitoring and availability reporting

·Provide support for live websites, development infrastructure and other applications, in collaboration with existing systems support teams

·Support the testing of internal and external systems and services

·Follow and develop best practice guidelines

·Contribute towards the selection of appropriate methods and tools and ensure they are applied effectively

·Write and maintain system documentation

Experience required -

-Experience working in a Agile Delivery Team

-Familiar with cloud-based technologies (AWS/Azure)

-Experience of build & release management

-Knowledge & experience with most, if not all of the following: Load Balancers, Webservers, Catching technologies, script automation & SQL/NOSQL Databases

-A strong understanding of Problem, Change & Configuration Management

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable you to explain technical concepts in a more simple and logical manner and the ability to build lasting relationships across the business and collaborate with a variety of people
