We are currently looking to recruit a Band 6 enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced School Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team based in Oxfordshire. You will be working with young adults whom have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD.

Key Responsibilities but not restricted too:

* Ensure that the medical needs of all students are safely managed in collaboration with parents, staff and relevant medical agencies.

* Safely manage the health care needs of all students.

* Ensure all students have accurate and up to date Health Care Plans.

* Ensure that all relevant staff are first aid trained and confident to administer medication.

* Liaise with parents and health care professionals and ensure all record keeping accurate and up to date.

* Purchase all medical supplies and keep an up to date inventory of all medicines and materials.

* Ensure there is a robust recording system for all medication and First Aid administered to students.

* Maintain accurate and up to date Accident records.

* Ensure all medical related appointments are recorded.

* Report to and attend residential care committee meetings.

* Provide advice and support to staff about the procedures for administering medication and possible side effects.

* Ensure staff have the required information in respect of medical, mental health and dietary requirements of the students.

* Ensure all staff have relevant health information for each student.

* Liaise with parents regarding home medical appointments and support contact with CAMHS.

* Communicate effectively with parents all medical and health care issues.

* Communicate with relevant parties following accidents to students or staff.

Successful Candidates

• RGN/RSCN preferred but other nursing qualifications will be considered.

• Experience of working in an education environment preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, empathy, team player.

Salary for this role is up £37,267 depending on experience plus additional benefits which includes 13 weeks annual leave.
