SME - Finance (Consultancy)


Has joint responsibility with the relevant Oracle functional lead for the development of the business


Accountable for working with the business programme directors and the SME Lead to ensure

the delivered business solution is in line with defined and agreed business processes and

identified functional requirements.

  • Work with the designated Oracle functional leads to identify further enhancements and

changes required to finalise the agreed business processes and produce a business solution

that can be scaled and deployed in line with the agreed programme scope and key design
  • Where required, work with the Oracle functional leads to prepare options papers with

recommendations for submission and discussion with the programme design authority.
  • To define any additional or updated policies, forms and operational guides required to

ensure alignment of the overall business solution with key design principles and agreed to-be business processes.
  • Produce descriptions of key business scenarios and representative sample data for

conference room pilots in line with the agreed project plan.
  • To provide inputs to the Oracle functional leads to further refine business scenarios and

support these throughout development and testing of the end-to-end business solution in

line with the agreed deployment plan and scope.
  • To fully participate in design workshops, conference room pilots, integration and user

acceptance testing in line with the project plan.
  • To provide inputs in the production of functional specifications for any identified reporting,

integration or identified solutions for other process gaps where such documentation is
  • To produce UAT test scenarios, test scripts and identify appropriate test data.
  • To develop process and operational documentation, business inputs to training

  • Develop Business processes (in conjunction with Oracle Functional Leads).
  • Conference room pilot scenarios and data.
  • Test scripts and test data for user acceptance testing.
  • Design authority papers (as required, in conjunction with Oracle Functional leads).
  • Business operations guides and training content (in conjunction with training manager).


With fixes or workarounds put in to place and agreed compromises, the two Pilot Business Units

(BUs) were deemed stabilised in April 2019.

The next steps are to continue monitoring these two BUs and being part of the team when future

BUs are deployed. It is imperative that the individual works with relevant experts to

ensure preventative measures are in place prior to additional BUs are deployed.

  • Work closely with the two BUs BAU teams. If new issue(s) arise assist the BAUs with a
  • Where a fix cannot be implemented and a workaround is put into place, these issue(s) need

to be communicated to the Oracle Solution Architect for the new issue(s) to be put on the

PWC Master Design Issues Tracker.
  • Complete timely reviews of the PWC Master Design Issues Tracker. Where possible,

implement quick fixes approved by the Oracle Solution Architect to reduce the number of

the workarounds for the BAU team.
  • Work closely with the Data Migration Team, to improve process of migrating new BUs onto
  • Assist new BUs deployed as and when they are implemented onto Oracle. This will involve

training of FMs prior to deployment of the BU and dealing with queries post deployment.
