DELIVERY MANAGER

Due to outside investment and substantial growth, our client is looking for x2 experienced Delivery Manager.

What you will be doing:
  • You will be responsible for supporting, guiding and overseeing our Engineering and Delivery Squad's (with focus on an off-shore Squad), ensuring their continuous improvement, effectiveness and success
  • Overseeing and responsible for new work Discovery phase in conjunction with the Product Managers
  • Ensure that the Domain Squads deliver to the agreed scope to ensure all objectives are met and realised
  • Ensure that all intra and external Domain dependencies are identified and managed effectively in collaboration with your immediate and wider peers
  • Ensure the Squads and the wider Product Domain delivers and maintains quality achieved through effective planning and resource management
  • Engagement and collaboration with external suppliers
  • Engagement and collaboration with internal stakeholders up to and including the Executive team
  • Building and maintaining solid & positive relationships with the other esure Product Domains
  • Building and maintaining solid & positive relationships with Internal IT support functions
  • Building and maintaining solid & positive relationships with Risk, Legal and Procurement teams on behalf of the Domain
  • Responsible for Domain Governance and reporting to business and IT leadership e.g.
    • Product progress/status reports
    • Working and Steering Group packs
    • Impediment tracking & resolution
    • Burn down charts & other relevant metrics
    • Full end to end RAID management
    • Resource demand/capacity management
    • All aspects of financial management
    • All aspects of Value assessment and realisation
    • Connect and represent the Product Domain teams at Scrum of Scrums, Working Groups and Steering Groups
    • Play an active part in Delivery and Product Communities of Practice
    • Responsible for negotiating, securing and deploying Releases
    • Ensure that all deliverables/releases meet the needs of Service Introduction and continued Business as Usual aspects

What we are looking for:

Essential:
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to lead and motivate virtual and remote teams
  • Proven experience of building and supporting teams in an agile software engineering environment
  • Proven experience of managing internal and external suppliers
  • Full end to end software delivery experience including non-functional aspects and BAU
  • Proven experience of all aspects of Governance controls
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and resolving ambiguity
  • Used to working alongside scrum masters, product owners, software and QA engineers
  • Ability to engage with Senior Stakeholders up to Executive level
  • Proven experience in managing cross portfolio dependencies
  • Experienced in driving continuous, measurable improvements and efficiencies
  • Proficient use of tools commonly used in an Agile environment i.e. JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Teams etc
  • Experience within e-commerce/retail environments (e.g. customer centric technologies such as customer events, payments, pricing platforms, front end) etc
  • Agile delivery management experience

Desirable:
  • Understanding of a wide range of project management methodologies and how to integrate them into different environments
  • Qualifications in agile (e.g. CSM) and/or project management (PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Technical knowledge of software engineering gained from either previously being a developer, analyst or tester
  • Experience of automated integration and quality assurance testing

In return you will recieve a salary of between £55,000 and £65,000 (DOE) and a generous range of benefits
