Senior Python / Java Software Engineer

This is an opportunity for a leading SaaS solutions provider.
Their UK team is expanding, they have a key position for a Lead Python Developer / Senior Developer.
This position offers the chance for a Lead Developer to have autonomy over the direction and product road-map. This will be a scalable and transactional environment. You will be working as part of the in-house team and leading on-shore and off-shore developers and resources in conjunction with being completely hands on.
The position offers the chance for a senior developer to step up into a Lead position or for an existing Technical Lead to work in a cloud based, technology driven and innovative environment.
The company work with Real-Time data and analysis, they leverage machine learning technologies and approaches. The company have a client base that spans six continents, including education institutions and workforce management.
The successful candidate will show experience of working with either Python or Java, containers (e.g. Docker), API gateways, various database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and third-party API tools such as Swagger and Gelato. Working knowledge of building scalable transactional solutions at AWS is required.
The ideal candidate will have experience of API development, working with Python or Java, containers (e.g. Docker) and API gateways. Experience with various databases both SQL and NoSQL, also CI/CD environments is all beneficial. Working knowledge of Python and machine learning model integration would also be desirable.

Experience Required:

*Python or Java
*SQL Databases (SQL Server, Postgres and/or SQLite)
*Linux
*CI/CD tools
*API gateways

Responsibilities include:

*Engineering leadership
*Design, develop, test and support custom web applications.
*Design and develop testing, deployment and maintenance procedures and activities.
*Create software documentation and update existing documentation.
*Working closely with analysts, designers, QA and support
*Ability to mentor and improve the skills of the development team.
