Our client is a £160 million business which supplies bakery own brand bakery products to the Major Multiples. They operate from are two sites in the North West. Our client has a clear commercial strategy and has built strong relationship with its customers through its new energy, style and commitment to partner relationships.

As part of their on-going growth and expansion they now have the role of Junior National Account Manager to support the commercial team and expand existing relationships whilst identifying and developing new commercial opportunities and avenues of growth within the grocery sector. The role is an exciting one as with the business expansion it offers the opportunity for an ambitious Account Manager to fast track up to a NAM level.

Junior National Account Manager

Working within the business with its strong growth agenda and energy will allow the incumbent of the role to experience a broad involvement than would be experienced in a National Accounts role in a more traditional blue-chip environment. Decision making is fast paced and individuals are expected to take responsibility for broad accountabilities and will be fully integrated with cross functional working with Production, NPD and Technical across the sites.

Above all they are looking for an individual who is a 'go getter' with the confidence to have an instant rapport with people, build relationships and work in a fast paced environment and confident in using their initiative.

Role Profile
  • Responsible for circa £20m national accounts end to end.
  • Preparation and presentation of market data and sales information (Kantar based)
  • Account management and liaison with customers to build strong working relationships
  • Analysis of profit and performance trends and make recommendations to drive growth.
  • Initiate and drive projects to create sales opportunities, including NPD and critical path management.
  • Full account housekeeping, regular forecasting and KPI reporting
  • Key cross functional interface internally and externally including NPD
  • Staying up to date with new and emerging themes/ products within your area of responsibility.

Candidate Profile
  • Experience of account management in an FMCG environment is essential (food preferred)
  • Social skills and personable persona with presence to fit with major retailer commercial environment is paramount.
  • Degree or equivalent.
  • Ambitious and highly focused in terms of their career
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
  • Resilience and evidence of building rapport and relationships.
