AllClear specialises in providing travel insurance to customers with medical conditions, and of older age groups who may have difficulty finding insurance elsewhere. We pride ourselves on the service we provide, giving our customers the chance to travel, regardless of their age, the destination or the medical condition.


We are currently recruiting a Systems Accountant to work for this rapidly growing business based in Romford, who can help streamline our core accounting and finance processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review the current Finance system and processes.
  • Identify and then implement a business management solution that will automate manual activities, eliminate duplication of effort and shorten the time to achieve an accurate financial close.
  • Drive the automation of data capture, analysis and reporting; ensuring data integrity.
  • Ensure that strong finance controls are built into the future system and processes
  • Plan and execute UAT for finance aspects of the system
  • Support the key finance team members on the project during design, testing and post-go-live
  • Manage the cut-over of finance data
  • Develop improved reporting from financial systems
  • Support the finance team with training and advice on how to make the best use of finance systems


Essential Experience:
  • A strong financial education - ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent).
  • A strong blend of financial and systems experience.
  • An experienced systems accountant with a track record of developing systems to improve efficiencies and controls across a business.
  • A demonstrable track record of process mapping, systems automation and driving efficiencies
  • Strong Excel modelling skills and report writing skills.
  • Proven track record of successfully working with a range of senior stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes
  • Proven ability to work with minimal resource to create a high-quality finance function and broader operational platform
  • A track record which demonstrates a balance between technical know-how and commercial pragmatism

Desirable Experience:
  • Prior experience of working in an Insurance intermediary or business providing services to the Financial Services industry and/or a business with a complex distribution network would be beneficial

  • Highly numerate with excellent commercial and analytical skills
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic and driven, and will act with pace and proactivity in all aspects of the role - a self-starter that doesn't require hands-on management to perform their role
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability (and desire) to interact at all levels across the business; energy and dynamism to fit into an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
  • Present confidently and succinctly at all levels in the business, including the Board, and externally
  • A team player is essential. Keen to roll up their sleeves and lead by example
  • Be a problem solver, thinking laterally to present solutions rather than issues with strong attention to detail and a reputation for delivering accurate and timely information
  • Ultimately be relentlessly results and success focussed
