We are committed to developing and enhancing our dynamic nursing team within Trauma and Orthopaedic services at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. We are now seeking to recruit a Professional Development Nurse to work alongside our existing team. You will be expected to work as part of the team to train, develop and support staff to reach their full potential. The role encompasses preparing newly qualified nurses, new starters to the team, supporting mandatory training, and devising and delivering educational programmes to enhance the knowledge and skills of staff. We are seeking a highly skilled, knowledgeable and dynamic Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality care in combination with teaching their colleagues. This role is primarily clinically facing although you would also be expected to undertake teaching and assist in the development of new clinical guidelines and procedures. As part of the role you will be expected to work clinically on the ward, ensuring quality patient care is delivered. You will also be expected to help support the senior management team on the unit. You should be enthusiastic and committed to the development and education of nursing staff. Effective management, communication and leadership skills are essential for this role and the individual must be adaptable to service needs and be able to demonstrate initiative and possess a proactive approach to improving standards of practice, education and skills within the ward.
