Due to a rise in student numbers this Ofsted `Good` School is seeking a Science Lead Practitioner to start January 2020.

They are ideally situated, only minutes from the M4 at Junction 5 and the M25, and with excellent rail links to Central London. If you chose to live here, renting is cheaper than in Central London, yet you are in town quickly. Windsor, Marlow or Henley are close and if you enjoy weekend travelling it takes about 15 min to Heathrow.

The school borders Buckinghamshire, with no less than 100,000 acres which are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - including a substantial part of the magnificently wooded Chiltern Hills.

Whether you are into the outdoors or want to be close to London, working here is ideal.

My client school in Slough is looking for a suitably qualified Science Lead Practitioner to join their team on a permanent basis for a January 2020 or potentially April 2020 start due to rising student numbers at the school. You will need to be able to teach and Lead science up to KS5. The Head Teacher is looking for a Science Lead Practitioner that has a passion for their chosen subject and heaps of creativity. You must have been graded as 'good' or better Science Teacher and possess Good behaviour management.

This is a full time, permanent Science Lead Practitioner role. The Science Faculty is extremely successful. You will be mentored by a highly experienced Head of Department and if you're an NQT then the NQT programme on offer is second to none. This is a school that educated pupils aged 11-18, so there is the opportunity for you to teach up to A' Level.

Their staff take part in programmes of professional development such as NPQML and NPQSL. A number of staff are also supported by the school with a Master's in Education. A partnership with many higher education providers supports this process.

They have developed an extensive and personalised CPD/JPD programme with an emphasis on sharing good practice. It is very rare that their INSET days consist of the whole staff being talked at for extensive periods of times! Instead they use these days to specifically provide training opportunities to selected staff whilst majority use their time to continue their research and update practice as a trusted and committed professional. To support this all staff are provided CPD time as part of their timetable in addition to their PPA and Non-Contact time.

NQTs, ITT and staff on assessment routes are fully supported as they work towards QTS. The schools links with Brunel University's Teacher Training Department, they are an enhanced partner school, are well developed and assist this process. All staff have generous non-contact time in order for them to be developed and further benefit from mentors and coaches.

There are exciting times ahead for this `Good Ofsted` school and the community they serve as they expand from 5 ½ forms of entry to 8, including a multi-million pound building programme which has very recently been completed.

The School was awarded the NFER Research Mark recently following a significant cultural shift to create a vibrant research ethos that is widespread across the school. The school offers a range of research activity involving the great majority of staff and a genuine sense of enthusiasm and passion for enquiry. In their most recent staff survey (June 2019) their provision for staff development was the top rated area of their work. This is crucial for developing the school further and ensuring the very best for their students but also for the well-being and motivation of their staff.

In November 2018 they moved into the new multimillion pound Building. This is a major investment by the Borough Council as part of its ambitious school expansion programme. They now have 29 brand new classrooms housing Humanities, English, MFL and their SEN departments. In addition a new student services area was provided and at the very heart of the school a new Library including additional Sixth Form study areas.

The School has well developed partnerships across the Local Authority and community where they lead on PE through the Schools Sports Network based nearby. They are currently one of four schools near Slough piloting the 'Health Champions' initiative and they also jointly co-host the Borough's PSCHE network. They are an enhanced partner School to Brunel University which sees their staff working with PGCE students at school but also at Brunel.

The School currently has 800+ students (170 in our Sixth Form). A Resource Base for Autistic Children is also attached to the School.

Don't miss out on this great Teacher role. Please send your CV to Mark Kemsley at Dunbar Education today. Interviews are taking place as and when good candidates are found.
