Schools in Southampton are looking for individuals who fit into any of the above categories to join their excellent teaching staff. The role is suitable for individuals who are looking for either part time or full time work as they are currently going through a predicted busy period and looking to recruit accordingly. This role will involve covering lessons in the absence of teachers and working with the schools cover team. Previous experience in the classroom is desirable, however if you are confident leading groups and can follow instructions and the schools behaviour policy you will also be considered.

Responsibilities include:
  • Delivering pre planned work to the class whilst covering a wide range of subjects, dependent on the needs of the school on the day.
  • Ensuring the schools behaviour policy is adhered to through effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Assisting the pupils with any work related questions they have as well as supporting with any additional needs, for example any SEN or behaviour related issues.
  • Reporting back to the head of department of progress of pupils within the class.
