About this vacancy

Brighton & Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust has an excellent and exciting opportunity for a hard-working, enthusiastic and experienced Finance Manager to support a Clinical Division (severalClinical Directorates).

BSUH provides a range of general hospital and specialist medical services treating 750,000 patients each year, as well as being the major trauma centre for Sussex and the South East. It is an exciting time for the trust with a multi-year which is now being managed in partnership with a local, outstanding CQC rated trust, is mid-way through the c£0.5bn redevelopment of the Royal Sussex County Hospital site and a restructuring of clinical services about to happen.

The Financial Management teamis based near the Royal Sussex County Hospital, on Eastern Road in Brighton.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager the Finance Manager will:
Work with a clinical division to ensure the trust meets its annual budgetAssist the division to achieve their cost improvement target (CIP) through identifying efficiency opportunitiesWork on activity and finance plans as well as business casesSeek to make improvements to Financial Management's processes and the quality of service provided to the clinical services
The successful candidate will :
Have a comprehensive understanding of financial management accountsBe an effective communicator with strong leadership skills and able to work accurately to strict deadlinesBe motivated and enthusiasticBe able to work autonomously as well as function within a teamBe confident in their ability to manage and develop a small teamand ideally be a qualified or (studying towards) accountant
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Divisional Management Team including the Divisional Clinical Director, Divisional Directors of Operations, and Clinical Directors,Service Managers and Budget Holders for constituent services.
