The Home Office are seeking a Service Design Transition Manager to join them in Croydon.

Team: HOME OFFICE|Digital Data and Technology|Enterprise Services

Initial contracts will run for 200 days over 12 months. The role is on average 4 days per week with flexibility required from the candidate. The rate is up to £550/day.

IR35 STATUS: Outside IR35. This engagement has been assessed by the public body as Outside IR35 legislation.

This role requires Active SC (Security Check) clearance. Applicants require active SC clearance or the willingness to go through clearance before starting on site. Candidates with current clearance will be preferred.

The Role and Main Responsibilities

We are looking for individuals with a background in Service Management, and experience of successful Service Design and Transition.

SDTMs will design and document new services. They will ensure that service design principles and standards are embedded into projects, and that comprehensive support arrangements are put in place. SDTMs will produce comprehensive service designs, incorporating business requirements, wider standards, Enterprise Services capabilities and external suppliers.

SDTMs will ensure that projects transition to live service in a safe and structured manner, engaging with project teams and Enterprise Services teams. SDTMs will be part of the Home Offices Service Architecture practice,and will contribute to the definition of standards and continual service improvement.

They will design and transition services that:
  • support business needs
  • reuse existing service components
  • are proportionate and affordable
  • effectively span multiple suppliers, platforms and support arrangements

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Experience of successful Service Design and Transition.
  • Experience in ITIL aligned Service Management
  • Setting expectations and managing stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Experience in onboarding third party suppliers
  • Experience of Service Design and Transition in Medium to Large Organisations.

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Existing SC Clearance or has held SC
  • ITIL V3 Expert Qualification
  • Public sector exposure

Qualifications Required

The successful candidate will have an ITIL V3 Foundation qualification and at least 2 of the Intermediate ITIL Modules, ideally Service Design and Service Transition.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 - General visas are cannot be accepted. This role requires that candidates be willing to undergo BPSS (DS) Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland).
