Contract: Full time & Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)

This is an exciting time to join IQA, at a period of growth and diversification. IQA, in conjunction with Elecnor, are entering into the Telecommunication market in the UK. We have recently been awarded a FTTH contract on behalf of City Fibre. As such we are looking to recruit experienced professionals in Newcastle for a long term project.

About the Role:

We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and experienced HSE Training & Compliance Coordinator to be based out of our premises in Newcastle supporting all aspects of our FTTH contract.

You will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day health and safety duties which will include implementing the companies' health and safety policies, assisting with the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, construction phase plans and assisting with site inspections. In addition to this, you will be responsible for recording, booking and monitoring all compulsory training requirements for the project.

Day to day tasks are as follows (but not limited to):

• Work closely with the H&S Advisor to coordinate the health, safety, & environmental strategy for the company, ensuring all relevant areas of the business achieve minimum agreed levels of compliance;
• Ensure all incidents are fully investigated, recorded and reported to the HSE Advisor correctly in consultation with Senior Company SQE Management;
• Provide general administrative support including; being the first point of contact for guidance and support to all members of the company regarding H&S policy, guidance and processes
• Monitor compliance with the company's H&S policy, organisation and arrangements;
• Production of statistical information in relation to SQE performance;
• Maintain up to date knowledge of new or revised legislation and other practical aspects of SQE management;
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of codes of practice applicable to the company's business;
• Assist in the review of all risk assessments and high-risk activities, ensuring adequate control measures are in place;
• Record, book and monitor compulsory training in conjunction with business requirements;
• Carry out health and safety audits on site;
• Promote via the management team the requirement for employees to be informed of their responsibilities and receive adequate training in safety, quality and environmental matters;
• Review accident investigation forms to ensure remedial action and control measures are undertaken.

Candidate Requirements:

• Successful completion or working towards NEBOSH General certificate
• Experience in a similar role at a similar level
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability of communicate at all levels
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Good PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience of working in a fast paced environment
• Ability to analyse data and recognise trends
• Proactive with new ideas for efficiencies, improvements
