A small independent specialist School for students with a wide range of additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and moderate learning difficulties in the Deal, Kent, is recruiting for a temp to perm SEN English Teacher / Teacher of English up to GCSE level.

This role is either to start immediately or after October half term 2019. I n a vibrant Kent SEN School that caters to behavioural pupils / ADHD/ ASD/ SEMH pupils at KS3, KS4 KS5 levels. Located in Kent, this school is in a great location and easily accessible by car or public transport. Strong Senior Leadership Team who lead with a clear vision.

All staff (support teaching) are consistent, dedicated, welcoming and supportive.
Teaching at this SEN school has been highlighted as "good" with outstanding features. It is imperative that all new teaching staff is able to mirror this.

Presently this school is recruiting for a full time temp to perm SEN Teacher of English / English Teacher MPS (+SEN points) to commence either immediately or October 2019.
The successful SEN English Teacher / Teacher of English must be well qualified (ieGTP / PGCE /Teach First/ QTS/ SCITT).

You will be the only practitioner in the department so essential you are comfortable planning, teaching and delivering to your pupils.

The newly appointed practitioner must have experience teaching in either mainstream OR SEN School and must have taught English Literature, English Language and functional skills (NOT EAL/EFL/ESL/TEFL/TESOL/ ESOL etc post).

Additionally you must have experience working with challenging behaviour, ieASD/ ADHD/ SEMHetc. The school would like to appoint an all-round good to outstanding SEN English Teacher / Teacher of English.

You will be able to build a strong rapport with your pupils.
UK recognised mainstream or SEN Teacher of English cert( ie Teach First/ PGCE/ QTS / GTP / SCITT, etc)
Able to teach a minimum of a Good Lesson
SEN or Mainstream English teaching experience will essentially be in English Literature language (NOT suitable to teachers who only teach for ESL/EAL/ EFL/TEFL /ESOL)
Patient, Confident, Consistent Adaptable Teacher who can build a strong rapport with pupils
Sound knowledge of the UK curriculum
SEN teaching experience with either ADHD/ ASD/ Challenging Behaviour
In date DBS with the update service Role: SEN English Teacher (ASD/ADHD/SEMH)
