A well respected client of ours has a Group Performance & Pricing Manager position available for their insurance group of companies. The role is working within the Delegated Authority (DA) Team and would suit an individual with technical knowledge who has the ability to manage business at portfolio level. This role will call for you to understand the mechanisms for calculating loss ratios attached to their business mix at segmented level and be able to suggest and model pricing and underwriting changes to maximise income for the business and profitability for their capacity partners. Whilst focus will be 75% internal, the successful candidate will require strong communication skills in order to be able to 'sell' proposed changes to both internal & external stakeholders.
Job Purpose
*To understand the performance of the group delegated authority schemes & strategic initiatives
*To provide reliable & expert advice to the business for best practice in relation to the management of Delegated Schemes & strategic initiatives to maximise profits for all parties
*To provide guidance to the business on pricing actions to achieve performance targets
*Communicate effectively with the business and external partners to educate and advise on best practice in relation to business mix & optimising

Key Skills/Competencies & Qualifications
*A collaborative and innovative approach to working
*Act with integrity at all times when working with stakeholders
*Expert understanding of insurance performance management principles and techniques
*Strong analytical capability with experience of insurance pricing models & monitoring systems
*Excellent communication skills to clearly converse and correspond with the business channels, Insurers and both internal & external brokers
*Good knowledge of all general insurance product lines
*CII qualification an advantage

Main Duties & Responsibilities
*Design & implement a performance management system to understand the loss ratios, business mix & conversion rates of Delegated Authority schemes & strategic initiatives
*Design & build appropriate earned triangulation models to track earned loss ratios to segmented levels
*Design & build appropriate pricing models to demonstrate the impacts of changes
*Propose modelled pricing & underwriting changes to the business & external partners and work with the wider DA Team to implement
*Educate the business & external partners on best practice required to achieve performance targets
*Liaise with the group business channels, insurer partners, broking franchises and external brokers to provide advice & guidance on all matters related to achieving performance targets
*Maintain an ongoing understanding of market activity with specific focus on loss ratio trends, average premium movements and shifts in customer purchasing trends
*Maintain an understanding of latest fraud trends & the impacts on profitability
*Design the production of monthly reports, management information and statistics to report on loss ratios, business mix, conversion/retention rates & performance against plan
*Manage the day to day workflow of the MI & Projects Manager (currently one report) to ensure all Management Information for the group is accurate & timely
*Keep all company information up to date
*Ensure wherever possible the department works within agreed service standards

FCA Compliance

*Ensure that FCA requirements, in terms of Training & Competence and Complaints, are adhered too.

Other
*Be prepared to assist the wider Delegated Authority team with general support when requested
*An element of external travel may be required to visit suppliers and insurers for meetings
*Ensure the group corporate values are implemented through all business relationships with key stakeholders
