Are you interested in developing your nursing skills and have a desire to care for critically ill patients?

Would you like to have eight weeks supernumerary while you settle into the critical care setting?

We offer for all staff at least eight study days within the first year of your career with us. This includes the MONITOR course and sessions which concentrate on assessment skills; scenarios and clinical supervision.

We also offer all staff the Essentials in Critical Care course, a 40 credit, level 6 module with the University Of South Wales which is ten taught days over six months. This is fully funded by us.

The Health Board currently has 2 units, an 8 bedded Critical Care at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny and a 16 bedded Critical Care and a 3 Bedded Post Anaesthetic Care Unit at The Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.

We are approaching exciting times as we plan to amalgamate Nevill Hall and the Royal Gwent Critical Care units in 2021 in a newly developed 30 bedded Unit at a new Specialist and Critical Care Centre (The Grange University Hospital) at Llanfrechfa, Cwmbran. The 560 bed new build hospital will provide complex specialist and critical care treatment and will also include a 24 hour acute assessment and Emergency Department.

We looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurses who are keen to pursue a career within critical care nursing, and be part of this new venture.

Candidates are required to be flexible and reliable in their approach to work. In return we will demonstrate a commitment to both personal and professional development to the successful candidate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
