I am recruiting for a SEND TA to support in a Primary aged SEN School in Bradford. This specialised school is designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs for children (age 2 to 11 years). The children have a range of special needs including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), epilepsy and other neurological conditions.

Your role as an SEN teaching assistant will include:
Assist students during class making sure they are on track.
Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class.
Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
Supporting students on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day.
Using your interests to engage learners in learning.
Support with the students personal care

Key skills and experience needed:
Experience working with people with special needs
Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties including epilepsy and autism.
Have an understanding of students with emotional needs.
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
Be flexible in your approach to education.
Moving and handling, team teach, Makaton, PECS, hoist training would be ideal for this role, but not essential.
