Business Advisory Assistant Manager

Responsible for the completion and/or supervision of any work required ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. This role will also involve assisting with fee raising, dealing with client queries as well as providing general support to Managers, Directors and Partners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Ensuring that allocated work is handled effectively and correctly from start to finish and is done in accordance with the Firm's policies and processes
  • Review of corporate and unincorporated accounts preparation
  • Review of corporate tax returns, computations and tax calculations
  • Review of management accounts
  • Providing feedback and coaching junior members of staff where work has been reviewed
  • Liaise with client staff while on the client's premises, building effective relationships with clients' staff
  • Monitor budgeted versus actual time spent, flagging up issues and overruns to the manager on a timely basis
  • Keep the Manager informed of issues which will affect the budget and the fee
  • Keep the client's staff informed of progress and issues while maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintaining an up to date technical knowledge of corporation, business tax, personal tax and financial reporting requirements and related matters
  • Engaging and consulting actively with specialists from other business lines, co-ordinating their involvement in advisory work and identifying cross-selling opportunities
  • Dealing with ad-hoc client queries, telephone calls and meetings

The successful candidate will have strong IT skills with experience in using accounts and tax packages. Candidates will ideally have a good working knowledge of clients accounting systems such as Sage, Xero and Quickbooks, but full training will be provided.

This role would be ideal for a candidate looking to take the next step in their career whether currently in Business Advisory or someone with relevant and transferable skills and experience looking to make a transition. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff and clients at all levels effectively.
