A fantastic opportunity for a Geography Teacher at a good Secondary School in East London has arisen to start in January 2020.

The School

This all-boys secondary school, located in the borough of Waltham Forest, are looking to recruit a Geography Teacher to be Head of Department and start in January 2020. It's a very supportive school and with a very stable staff, opportunities usually arise due to promotion - either internal or external. Teachers at this school are encouraged to improve and the school invests well in training for staff internally but also from external trainers. Management and middle leaders are also very effective and take an active role in pupil progress.

Graded 'Good' across the board by Ofsted in 2016, it noted that 'Pupils are motivated and focused on their work and they are consistently polite and courteous.'

The role

The school is looking to appoint a talented and dynamic Geography Teacher who can lead the department and join their large Humanities department to teach Key Stage 3 and 5. The Geography team aims to help students to become thoughtful geographers and independent thinkers by employing strategies that encourage students to ask questions and pursue a 'route to the enquiry'. You will be working alongside a team with varied experience and with this, in mind, both Newly Qualified and experienced Teachers are encouraged to apply. The role is to start in January 2020 and will be full time.

To be considered for this English role you must have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • PGCE in Geography
  • Great experience teaching Geography KS3-KS4
