In May 2014 the Trust relocated the majority of its acute services to the Brunel Building, one of the most advanced hospitals in Europe offering exemplary care in a beautiful and purpose built environment, designed with the patients privacy and dignity in mind. Alongside this there has been significant investment and redevelopment of Pathology services with the building of new state of the art laboratories at Southmead Hospital and the creation of Severn Pathology.

The laboratory facilities accommodate all pathology disciplines including the Bristol Genetics Laboratory, a single Bristol Cellular Pathology Service and a combined Microbiology and Health Protection Agency service within one facility. Severn Pathology's aim is to provide a best in class, high quality, innovative, value for money pathology service that serves the needs of the healthcare market in the South West region and beyond. North Bristol NHS Trust is located within one of the most vibrant cities in the UK. Voted the best city to live in 2014. Bristol is famous for its year-round festivals, award-winning cycle tracks, exceptional gastronomy, stunning cityscapes and awe-inspiring street art.
