We are currently recruiting for a school finance assistant. The role will be part time hours at a school in Liverpool and will run until July 2020. The candidate must have very good knowledge of the SIMS and FMS systems. Previous experience of working in an educational establishment will be an advantage, as you will be expected to hit the ground running and deliver a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires an immediate start; due to the nature of the immediate start, the successful candidate must have an enhanced DBS on the update service to be considered for the role.

- Prepare financial proposals in line with the School Development Plan to co-ordinate an annual budget of income and expenditure at the school.

- Control all personnel processes to ensure that all documentation is accurately completed and forwarded to the relevant departments in compliance with school policy and legal requirements.

- Support the headteacher in a consultative and administrative capacity in matters of finance, personnel and school administration to provide an objective and informed view to aid decision making.


- SIMS & FMS experience essential from working in an accounts environment voluntarily or paid, as well as experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel

- An accounting qualification would be an advantage for example AAT

- Previous experience in a school is desirable but not essential

- Excellent administrative and ICT skills, including attention to detail on data entry work, and the ability to multi-task

- Effective communication skills

- The ability to work with high levels of tact, confidentiality and discretion


All candidates will be subject to Randstad Education's child protection and UK eligibility checks. This includes an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, full referencing process, and the cost of any new police check (DBS) required will be met by the candidate.
