Our client is looking for an experienced individual to provide support to the Product Manager and be responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing plan for the company including pricing, promotion, distribution, and new product launches in line with overall business objectives.
Duties;
* In conjunction with the Product Manager and Head of Marketing, develop and deliver the marketing strategy and activity plan to support the category in line with business objectives, maximising market share and brand profitability.
* To work alongside the global New Product Development (NPD) teams on new product ideas and launches. Building cross border relationships to work on NPD launches and participate on monthly product category calls.
* Make recommendations to the Product Manager and Head of Marketing to successfully manage and champion new product development and ensure the achievement of measurable results within lead time and cost parameters.
* Carry out a full analysis of product performance to highlight and initiate any changes required, using sales performance data (internal and external) and on-going review of market and competitor activity.
* Manage the category Profit & Loss statement (P&L) ensuring that all strategic initiatives and new product developments meet overall profitability targets.
* Manage Return on Investment (ROI) analysis on key promotional activities against planned action standards presenting results and recommendations to Head of Marketing and commercial teams.
* Manage product copy and imagery for categories on the company's website and online communication ensuring that copy is consistent and reflects brand and consumer objectives. Create support for these categories alongside the Content Manager including point of sale, visual display concepts, photography including lifestyle and product shots.
* To develop and maintain effective professional relationships with all internal stakeholders both UK and internationally (sales, retail, finance, operations and NPD teams).
* Work alongside the wider marketing team on the support for two trend themed Marketing Campaigns each year. Exploring how the themes can display in-store visually with point of sale and props. Attending and supporting lifestyle photo shoots for each campaign.
* Provide additional support to the Product Category Manager and wider marketing team as required; organising samples, liaison with home economist, supporting master-classes, doing product quality checks.
* Provide presentation support during periods of high workload particularly during campaign launches, international meetings and conferences.
* Attend and support relevant trade and consumer shows, photo shoots and events both in in the UK.
* Carry out from time to time and as directed, any other duties as required in addition to the above that will be both reasonable and within your capabilities.
* Ensure that at all times you take care of your health and safety and that of others by complying with health and safety obligations, particularly by reporting promptly any defects, risks or potential hazards.
Skills;
* CIM Marketing qualification
* Degree level or equivalent ideally business related is essential
* Experience in a similar role
* Ability to use and interpret sales and consumer data (tracking research).
* Understands and can interpret market and consumer trends.
* Able to communicate brand messages and create brand differentiation
* IT Literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPointmin. to Intermediate level or above) is essential
* Is able to build relationships and interact effectively across functions, seniority levels, and cultures with confidence.
* Displays accuracy and quality in his/her work written work.
* Maintains a high activity level, is enthusiastic, motivated and energetic.
* Able to gather information and quickly, accurately identify the causes of problems in work related activities and processes.
* Communicates information and/or arguments effectively, gains support and acceptance of other parties and compromises when appropriate.
