Supply Chain Manager- A brand new supply chain management role has come up in the Surrey area for a leading manufacturing company looking for someone to join their dynamic, hands on manufacturing environment. The role is for a 12 month FTC. The ideal candidate will have experience with the manufacturing field and need to have exposure to managing a supply chain team. Supply Chain Manager Responsibilities: The role of the Supply Chain Manager will involve •Working within a hands mechanical style organisation who manufacture high volume products •Promote supplier relationship management and actively engage with key suppliers to address issues and identify potential opportunities to further develop collaboration and deliver continuous improvement of supplier performance ( Costs, Service and Quality) •Lead purchase contract negotiations to maximize component cost control and savings •Manage the supply of aftermarket parts to a third party provider •Ensure continuity of supply to the end customer at all times •Accountability for day to day purchasing activities ensuring that parts are delivered on-time to suit customer requirements. From raising the Purchase order to the delivery of the product into stores ensuring availability for production within the required time-scales to the company •Manage a complex multicommodity global supply chain spanning niche volumes through to multi-national conglomerates Recruit, manage and develop the supply chain team, including planning, warehouse, logistics and inspection Lead and deliver supply chain cost saving initiatives, including re-sourcing where necessary •Liaise closely with the customer on their demand schedules and flow these through supply chain Manage and develop the organizations demand planning system Manage the stock levels of the operation to within budget and continue to achieve excellence in annual stock-take performance Supply Chain Manager Requirements: •Significant experience in manufacturing/engineering fields •Supply Chain management experience required and a background in managing a small team •Experience in demanding the highest standards in quality, efficiency, delivery performance and value for ; •Be able to take a hands-on approach, lead by example and be driven towards delivery •Be able to quickly assess critical issues affecting the supply chain and provide an appropriate management response •Be a real team player, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines •Essential to this role would be: •Good planning and commercial skills •Confidence in using ERP systems such as BAAN / SAP or an equivalent •Membership of an appropriate professional body is desirable Why Should You Apply? •Salary: £48,000 + Benefits •25 days annual holiday + bank holidays rising with years of service •Pension Scheme •Life Assurance plan •Sickness benefit If this role is not what you're looking for don't worry.
