An exciting opportunity to join a global organisation as Product Manager. This is a newly created opportunity, focusing on identifying new product development (NPD) opportunities, penetrating existing markets and identifying related and complimentary products and applications to the UK market.

The Role

Develop overall product strategy and ensure that the product portfolio is fully aligned to the strategy of the business, and that the correct projects, partnerships and resources in place to achieve these.
The role will take ownership of the full product portfolio and manage the Product Life Cycle (PLC) for all products through the stages of introduction, launch, maturity and obsolescence.
The role will deliver growth opportunities from incremental innovation such as new features, product improvements and evolution of our existing products and technologies.
Developing IoT solutions for a variety of sectors.
Working collaboratively and cross-functionally on projects to deliver the company vision and develop sales growth.
Contribute to the development of strategic objectives deliver and implement the Business Plan.
Manage budgets to targets, in order to optimise profit, minimise loss & manage a healthy cashflow for the Company.
Defining and delivering the current and future product strategy, in order to deliver the Company Vision and business objectives
Gathering high-quality insight from customers and delivering this across all relevant business processes.
Identifying Customer Use Cases within target verticals, and defining opportunities to support those customers using innovative wireless technologies.
Supporting and, where required, leading project teams to ensure NPD projects are delivered on time, in full and within target costs.
Gathering and presenting accurate data regarding sales, profitability, customer and product.
Defining, managing and communicating the Product Life Cycle (PLC) from introduction, through to maturity and end-of-life / obsolescence.
Understanding industry standards, legislation and certification requirements that impact our product portfolio, and identifying changes, improvements or NPD required to maintain or enhance our competitive position.
Working closely with the Product Marketing team to generate value propositions / USPs, inform marketing briefs, and develop comms strategy for new and existing products.
Taking the role of Product Owner during the scrum activity of relevant Agile projects, to ensure user requirements are identified, prioritised and delivered appropriately
Ensuring a robust process is followed for new product prototyping, customer field trials, product testing and competitor benchmarking as part of the product stage-gate process
Providing extensive analysis of products, customers, markets and competitors that will enrich our business intelligence and inform our decision-making for future projects.
Supporting sales teams, internal teams, customers and partners with product training and product support for new products, revisions or updates.

The Candidate

To be considered for the role of Product Manager, you should be able to demonstrate the following:

Experienced as a Product Manager in the introduction and development of new products and systems to the market, working closely in conjunction with sales teams to enhance the companies already market leading position.
A proven track record as an IOT Product Manager with experience in cloud based and technology-based applications & solutions
The ability to play a significant part in formulating short term and long term planning and market analysis and be able to assume full margin control and profitability.
Knowledge of working with industry technical bodies, driving standards and approvals.
Ideally possess a degree and be a graduate in a business or marketing discipline.
Possess marketing experience within the construction, building products or industrial sector.
Experience of technical product management would be an advantage but not essential.
Motivation, determination, passion and strong team working skills.
Experience of developing IoT solutions.
Willing and able to undertake considerable travel within the UK and perhaps overseas where necessary.
Self-motivated with a drive and enthusiasm to promote and develop the product life cycle.
Excellent listening & communication skills across all levels.
Experience of working with Agile, Scrum and traditional Stage - Gate project teams.
Strong negotiating & persuasive skills
Likely to be qualified to degree level in a technical discipline.
Full Driving License.
