Busy accountancy practice currently with two offices in North Leeds seeks Practice Accountant to support continued business expansion. The role will provide and deliver high quality tax, accountancy & VAT services with the personal touch that our small business clients demand. You will work closely with all the existing team and will be taking a leading role in the preparation and checking of final work.

You will need to be able to prepare complex accounts, although most of the work is for small businesses to £500,000 t/o. The Practice has been operating for 20 years and has established processes in place, along with access to excellent ongoing training & technical support in all aspects of the role.

You will have the opportunity to be client facing and take on a portfolio of new and existing clients to manage.

The role will include the following duties and therefore you are required to have technical experience in: • Reviewing & preparing of Self-Assessment Tax Returns and accounts for sole traders and partnerships. • Reviewing & preparing Ltd Company management accounts, year-end accounts and Corporation Tax Returns. • Reviewing & preparing VAT Returns. • Assisting and training other members of staff.

Any new training will be provided in learning the practice software, however, experience with the accounting and tax software TaxCalc and Quickbooks Online will be an advantage but not essential.

Candidate Profile

You will have proven accounts and taxation knowledge gained via appropriate and recent practice experience and be used to working on your own initiative. Ideally, you will be qualified or studying towards ACCA/ACA, hold an accountancy degree or other appropriate professional qualification. We would also welcome your application if you are qualified by experience.

You must have a good working knowledge of accounts preparation and computations of taxes with the ability to hit the ground running and assist with complex tasks. As a successful candidate you will also have:

• The ability to develop strong client/colleague relationships,

• Exceptional communication/presentation skills,

• Drive & ambition with a high focus towards customer service.

You will also have a sound knowledge of accounting principles and strong business acumen. Your tax knowledge must be up to date and you will need good IT skills.

You must have good people skills, be highly organized and be able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines as part of a busy and friendly team. You must

have a good command of the English language (both spoken and written) as the job involves writing of technical emails to clients.
