Sub Contract Programme Manager

Would you like to support the Type 26 contract delivering 8 ships to the Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a Sub Contract Programme Manager at our site in Glasgow.

As a Sub Contract Programme Manager, you will be operating in a programme environment managing the end-to-end subcontract lifecycle of assigned services delivering into the Clyde Ship-build Delivery teams. You will lead all aspects of the subcontract management activities for post contract delivery, commercial negotiations, contact placement and contract execution to closure. You will draw upon experiences from the NEC3/4 form of contract, subcontract management best practice, and subject matter expertise to effectively deliver within role.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a major and prestigious programme of work, managing high value and important supporting subcontracts.

Your main responsibilities as a Sub Contract Programme Manager will involve:

Commercial management and execution of contracts, including management of supplier deliverables, contract change activities, contract warning processes, contractual notices & payment certification

Meetings with contractor on any commercial and contractual issues and generate MOM's

Performance management of subcontractors through regular dialogue and contract reviews

Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to identify risk and ensure mitigation / risk retirement plans are in place

Work with key stakeholders to resolve issues as escalated through the Subcontractors, internal stakeholders, the Site Coordinator or Quantity Surveyor

Weekly / monthly reporting activities reflecting supplier and contract status, performance, Health & Safety, quality, risks and budget delivery and savings for assigned contracts

Your skills and qualifications:


Working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracting

Experienced in the delivery of services or construction contracts with detailed knowledge of optimal, contracting and pricing routes

Previous experience of large scale complex programmes


Degree qualified in related subject or equivalent experience

You will be a flexible and proactive individual that is able to manage changing scenarios and resolve complex commercial issues enabling dispute avoidance. Excellent communication and influencing skills will be required for this role to interact with stakeholders at all levels and to collaborate with the business and suppliers. Commercial awareness is also key to this role as you will be responsible for the effective delivery of contract, service delivery budgets and performance reporting.
