We're looking for energy, passion & agility as a key part of this role will be to lead strategic brand projects (NPD/ EPD/ PPA etc); delivering products to market on time with a sound business case, driving incremental brand & category growth

Working alongside the Baking Controller, this person will support strategy development and play a fundamental role in re-energising some of Britain's most loved brands.

The No 1 brand in Flour, McDougalls, is on a steep, fast path to modernisation. Alongside the exciting new Paul Hollywood launch, the ground breaks upcoming launches under Mr Kipling and Cadbury brands, as well as a number of other smaller brands (Atora, Hovis (Flour & Yeast)) results in a mix of interesting challenges - Regaining No 1 brand role, working with a Celebrity & Brand license & clever "fighter" thinking.

  • Working across all brands in the Home Baking portfolio with priority focus on supporting the key brands, while developing a "light-touch" understanding of smaller brands.
  • Implementing the in-year marketing plan via development and execution of innovation plans & product / packaging improvements.
  • Contribute to the 3 year pipeline development in collaboration with the head of Innovation and the Home Baking Controller.
  • Development of the specific components of the 18/19 plans alongside the Home Baking Controller.
  • Keeping consumers at the heart - developing insight led, consumer centric brand development projects to step change growth.
  • Working to lead key NPD/EPD & other brand development projects through our commercial approval process with strong consumer, category and shopper rationale supported by rigorous business cases to ensure maximum chance of in market success.
  • To lead and inspire cross-functional teams (specifically R&D, Category Management, CP&E, Supply Chain and Sales) to facilitate successful projects to market
  • Working closely with the Baking Controller to ensure all initiatives are aligned to brand strategies & bring the Brand Benefit to life
  • To develop and validate stand-out packaging for initiatives that bring concepts to life and promotes trial
  • To create products with distinct propositions that deliver long term, sustainable & profitable brand growth
  • Develop broader brand management skills via focus on P&L understanding, Audit and plans for smaller brands.

  • Successful brand marketing / innovation experience within a market leading FMCG organisation
  • Someone who can make an impact and can demonstrate delivering outstanding results in a fast moving dynamic environment
  • Strong bias for action and high degree of personal accountability
  • Strong experience of working cross-functionally and leading projects to successful in market delivery
  • Experience of working with a broad spectrum of research tools (including market data, trends analysis and consumer qualitative programmes)
  • A commercially and analytically aware individual (fluent in understanding and developing a P&L) who is comfortable creating and presenting business cases in an organisation which will only invest on the back of sound quantitative evidence
  • An instinctive marketer who places consumers at the heart of everything that they do
  • Evidence of challenging convention, demonstrating good initiative and thinking 'out of the box'
  • Ability to work at Fewer - Bigger - Better frameworks and identify the best combination of opportunities & lead to comprehensive plans.
  • Experience working within the Food and Beverage Industry an advantage
