We have an new opportunity for an experienced Product Manager to join us and lead the development of our retail deposit business, balancing our customer centric approach with reducing cost of funds.

Reporting to the Group Head of Marketing and with close interaction with the Head of Commercial Development you will be responsible for shaping the direction of the product, distribution and marketing strategy with agreement from the senior leadership team for the Bank's retail deposit taking business.

Key responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the Savings element of the cash flow including; analysing historic flows and monitoring current flows, the interpretation and planning of savings requirements within the overall cash flow producing and integrating detailed forwards plans at product level and liaising with Treasury and Finance to ensure the retail savings element is fully represented in the overall cash flow discipline
  • Development of new products and services via the Product and Services Design framework, and the rationalisation of existing ones, providing recommendations in the light of competitor activity, customer demand and our corporate/business needs
  • Implementation within agreed budgets and deadlines, ensuring the risk implications of product development and rationalisation proposals are fully understood and appropriate countermeasures are put in place where required
  • Proposing recommendations on product management and promotional activity for the next planning period
  • Ownership of product Terms and Conditions and their review as well as any associated fees
  • Build the "fact-base" and key insights to determine areas of greatest opportunity
  • Relationship management of key external suppliers, industry bodies and internal customers, particularly the Marketing Team, Customer Services, Treasury, Finance and the Executive Committee


Knowledge and experience
  • Substantial practical marketing experience in a savings product management environment ideally with expert knowledge of ISA's / JISA's
  • Knowledge and understanding of all relevant codes of practice, regulations, legislation and other guidelines, e.g. BCOB & FCA handbook
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with any additional relevant professional qualifications
