Specialist Pharmacist Antimicrobial Therapy

Band 7 - £37,570 - £43,772

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable pharmacist to work as part of the multidisciplinary antimicrobial stewardship team comprising of a Principal Pharmacist Antimicrobial therapy, Consultant Microbiologists and Infection Control team within the trust to deliver the stewardship strategy. You will work within this team to help reduce development of antimicrobial resistance by promoting stewardship agenda and reducing inappropriate consumption of antimicrobials. You will support the team in developing a trust wide culture that reduces hospital acquired infection and supports prudent use of antimicrobials.

You will work along the Principal Pharmacist and develop your clinical skills in infections management. If not already a non-medical prescriber you will be supported to achieve the independent prescribing qualification.

Education and training will also form part of your role to promote safe and effective prescribing by clinicians.

The Antimicrobial Stewardship team works closely with the Sepsis team to achieve shared goal of appropriate prescribing of antimicrobials.

You must be a registered pharmacist and have already or nearly completed your Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma. You should have good team working and organisational skills, experience of training/supervision of others and the ability to organise and support a busy workload and staff. Experience of working in a hospital is essential.
