Altro are currently recruiting for Credit Manager to join our friendly Finance team here in Letchworth Garden City. The position will be part time 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday on a permanent basis.

Part of the UK Finance team, the Credit Control team perform a vital role in assisting the business in achieving its financial objectives whilst mitigating financial risk; maximizing cash collection; and providing excellent service to internal and external customers. It is comprised of credit controllers and assistant credit controllers and lead by the Credit Manager.

As a Credit Manager, your main responsibility will include:
  • To act as a role model in managing and supporting the members of the credit control team, facilitating a working environment that fits with the Group's culture and aids achievement of corporate goals.
  • To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the finance team and with other internal and external customers.
  • To own the relationship with our credit insurer, and ensure full compliance with all aspects of the credit insurance policy (UK and International).
  • To set and implement credit policy within the Group in conjunction with other key areas of the business.
  • Monthly reporting to the board including: Bad debts, debtor days outstanding, cash targets and forecasts.
  • Management of overdue UK and International debtors including attainment of targets on overdue accounts/ cash collection.
  • To proactively support the business in maximizing sales without increasing the Group's exposure to credit risk.
  • To manage queries and potential issues sensitively and assertively, and resolve them on own initiative.
  • To cross functionally continually review processes/procedures to ensure that they are the most efficient and effective for the Group.
  • To manage the production of AR sundry invoices, monthly reconciliations, journals and other relevant financial information.

What are we looking for?
  • Previous management experience in a credit control environment
  • Understanding of Credit Insurance is essential
  • Ability to make sound commercial judgements in the credit control environment
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Credit vetting
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience of dealing with foreign currency transactions
