Operations Manager for a global industrial services provider. The role is based in Merseyside.

Our client is a leading industrial services provider with a global presence.


The purpose of this role is to manage the operational requirements of the Industrial business to ensure customer orders and specifications are met in a timely and cost effective manner. The role involves working as part of the management team to deliver on all lifting equipment and related projects throughout the UK and providing technical assistance to company staff and customers.
  • Responsible for the management of 3 site managers
  • Provide support for all technical requirements to customers from a compliance, efficiency and technical level.
  • Support the Engineers workload Globally liaising with site managers for resource
  • Support site and Operations Managers to ensure that all sites are compliant to current legislation
  • Control and monitor CSAM systems for lifting, hire and tooling
  • Report industrial efficiency of direct reports monthly and assist the Head of Sales in achieving UK efficiency targets
  • Monitor industrial resource and labour recovery of direct reports monthly and assist Head of Sales in achieving UK efficiency targets
  • Ensure all direct reports own lifting equipment is inspected at the correct intervals
  • Assist in industrial tenders and new projects from an operational and technical perspective
  • Liaise with sales on cost of technicians, transport and other cost to sales to ensure the correct margin is captured
  • Liaise with product managers with industrial stock control
  • Liaise with client representatives whilst conducting work supporting sales and projects
  • Ensure that direct reports and relevant achieve a competency level as defined in LEEA registration scheme & Support Operations Managers to achieve across UK
  • Be familiar with mechanical aptitude, test and examination techniques for general lifting equipment to LEEA standards, and that all lifting and testing staff adheres to this through local management and procedures
  • Communicate with sales staff to make sure all customer requirements are planned and met to achieve deadlines
  • Act as Technician advice and/or support for Lifting and Testing matters
  • Review for accuracy and update as necessary 'Lifting Equipment Test and Examination Procedure' SOP-124 and associated documentation
  • Act as focal point with LEEA
  • Support QHSE to ensure required reference material is current and available
  • Ensure UK compliance with legal standards and SOP's of direct reports
  • Support site Operations Managers throughout all Services UK lifting to ensure consistency and compliance for lifting and testing facilities


? Proven record of working within the Lifting Equipment industry and having held a similar role

? Experience in running multiple sites and projects.

? LEEA Qualified and LEEA Card holder.

? LOLER, PUWER and SOLAS compliant

? HSE Training to IOSH Standards

? Qualified to produce Risk and method statements.

? Time served apprenticeship within the industry preferred.

? Overhead crane/ height safety knowledge an advantage.
