IT Support Technician

Our client is looking to recruit an IT Support Technician. This role will report to the IT Manager and you would be required to assist in the delivery of 1st and 2nd Line Support to approx. 75 onsite and remote users and 1st line support to a portfolio of approximately 30 clients. This role is located in Farnham but some travel to clients sites will be required. Salary £20,000 to £30,000.

IT Support Technician Responsibilities
  • Support and Maintenance across multiple IT systems
  • Logging all incoming IT support calls from external clients and internal users including taking full details of the problem.
  • Checking shared IT mailbox. Follow up and solve the issue where possible or log and escalate as appropriate.
  • Providing software support on all MS Office applications for external clients and internal users.
  • Managing support issues on specialist software applications and escalate issues 3rd party suppliers.
  • Providing Log calls with external support suppliers (Photocopiers/Printers & Specialist Software Providers).
  • Maintain contact to ensure that they adhere to SLA's.
  • Building new PC's and laptops.
  • Ongoing PC and laptop maintenance and upgrading hardware e.g. graphics cards, memory etc
  • Dealing with basic user issues using remote access tools.
  • Managing IT issues associated with internal office moves e.g. moving equipment.

Skills & Experience
  • IT Qualification
  • Intermediate to Advanced user of MS Office Applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Sound understanding of MS Windows 2007 & 2010.
  • Customer service experience ideally in an IT support environment an advantage
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the aptitude to liaise effectively with non-technical individuals
  • Interest in continuing professional development and maintaining knowledge of latest technologies.
