·Strong release management experience

·Demonstrable ability to co-ordinate across teams

·Demonstrable experience of release management in a Software Delivery environment

·Experience with JIRA

·We develop in Python, Oracle PLSQ, Java, MySQL, MSSQL, JS and deploy on both on-premise and cloud solutions

·Knowledge of Jenkins, Codestream, Maven, Ansible/Chef preferred, but not essential as long as other stacks have been used

The Role

You will own release management which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise, of multiple applications in a mission critical environment.

The releases will be inclusive of application updates, security improvements, projects and programmes.

You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test and production environments. Working collaboratively across European locations supporting developers and testers as they setup their build, dev & test environments.

The release manager responsibilities will also include building the release calendar, centralising the view of all releases and will assist in ensuring project milestones adhere to the integrity of releases and can be measured.

This position also works with IT Management to improve processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying and updating software and environments.

The Release Manager will also help define the strategic direction of release management.


·Self-starter who can work in an unsupervised environment

·Forward plan release windows and cycles across the portfolios

·Manage risks and resolve issues that affect the release, scope, schedule and quality

·Work with dev & app teams to understand impacts of branches and code merges

·Maintain a build and release procedures repository

·Manage relationships and co-ordinate work between different teams at different locations

·Weekly release reporting

·Communicate weekly release details and schedules to the business

·Continuously work towards making improvements to the release process, tools & technology

·Develop scripts and automations used to build, integrate and deploy software releases securely

·Research new technologies or methodologies which improve release management
