Senior Operations Engineer

A Senior Build and Release Engineer is required by a leading Organisation based in Maidenhead.

The successful candidate will join an existing Delivery Engineering team that supports the infrastructure, processes and practices for building and releasing software, working on their path towards improving their Continuous Delivery practices.

As the Build and Release Engineer, you will be responsible for developing plans and implementing strategies for the consolidation of tooling and infrastructure used to build, test and release the suite of this clients applications. You will be accountable for planning and implementing a migration to Cloud (AWS) based infrastructure and solutions, developing practices for cost control and innovation and will assist and support in the creation of enterprise and community releases of components of this client's Digital Business Platform.

Along with experience working as a Senior Build and Release Engineer and a desire to build Continuous Delivery pipelines, whilst working with teams to improve their path from code commit to production, you will also have the following:

* Experience supporting the building of applications using NPM, Maven, Gradle, Ant or similar technologies
* Deep understanding of build servers such as Bamboo or Jenkins,
* Practical experience working with cloud systems such as AWS or Azure, and tooling for configuration management such as CloudFormation or Terraform, and technologies such as Chef or Puppet
* Knowledge or experience of working with Docker OR Kubernetes
* Working knowledge of version control systems such as SVN or Git
* Good experience of managing linux-based systems, including knowledge of shell scripting and system administration.
