Hudson Shribman are looking a full stack lead, to lead and supervise a team to provide expert detailed design and building of a suite of, integrated end user applications to enable - the effective management of complex assets, managed under an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) regime.
Job Description
  • Accountable for developing, implementing and executing the delivery plan for the Applications Development team (Development & Configuration Tasks, Scrum Testing and Support to live Applications(3rd Tier)) within the Business Solutions Competency Centre
  • Lead a team of Developers to deliver functional specifications that convert user requirements (Features and Stories) into acceptable solutions.
  • Ensure integrated solutions maximise the capabilities of available COTS toolsets
  • Ensure trained resources are deployed into Sprint cycles maximising their capability and development of specialist skill sets
  • Ensure the Apps Developers adhere to processes and design patterns as governed by the Engineering Group; whilst promoting new concepts and idea's from the team to the change board for adoption consideration.
  • Ensure the delivered products are fit for transfer to support, including all necessary support material and engineering checks are completed
  • Ensure the delivery plan of the Business Applications is synchronised with the partner teams to ensure impedance is minimised and the integrated schedule is maintained
  • Assure the communications from the Team to external and internal IS&S Stakeholders is assured and timely (Forecasts, Issues, Risk's etc...)
  • Ensure a training plan for the team is active and deployed
  • Ensure the culture of Peer review and continuous improvement is delivered and embedded in the team
  • Accountable for developing functional expertise within the team covering applications development and COTS Configuration deployed to the sprint cycles - to meet current and future demands by continuous improvement
Qualifications and Experience
  • Subject matter expert in the design and development of major IS applications and how those applications can support the business processes.
  • Working knowledge of current software development methodologies/strategies i.e. DSDM & AgilePM
  • Capable of producing technical proposals and documentation for use by senior management within the organisation to support their decision making process.
  • Good working knowledge of industry leading databases i.e. Oracle, SQL Server etc.
  • Demonstrable application development skills using PL/SQL, Apex, JDeveloper, Toad, .Net.
  • Web based programming such as HTML, Web 2.0, Ajax, XML, Java, ASP/JSP technologies.
  • Good understanding of data management techniques.
  • Demonstrable exposure and grasp of the latest technology, software and architecture trends and practical application of these in the resolution of business problems Track record in leading Scrum Teams in the Agile methodology and alignment with Project Management.
