Desktop Support Engineer - Insurance - £30K + Excellent Package

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a big brand for a Desktop Support Engineer to join their team in Reigate.

Role of the Desktop Support Engineer

·Provide 1st 2nd and some 3rd line IT support to users
·Diagnose and repair hardware faults
·Work with staff to help resolve issues and provide extended support i.e. within Exchange and AD; if needed
·Create and maintain internal and customer facing documentation and support material
·Interface with other teams across the organisation in order to establish and enforce best practices and standards
·Keep abreast of advancement in technology solutions and offerings and recommend change where required.
·Keep a learning attitude to changes and developments
·Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members
·To be very aware of security issues and keep our environment safe and secure
·Communicate procedures through clear documentation
·Have flexibility in the hours worked and some travel between offices across the UK

Skills and experience of the Desktop Support Engineer

·Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows 10 and Office inc.365 across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support
·Excellent knowledge of deploying Windows 10, including builds and patching
·Excellent knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange
·Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 - 2016
·Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
·Good knowledge of SCCM and the use of in a desktop environment
·Good knowledge of networking i.e. switches, routers, VLANs, IP, WAN, DHCP and VPM
·Knowledge of PowerShell (highly desirable)
·Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) (highly desirable)
·Able to address and prioritise work using ServiceNow
·Maintain installed PCs, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance
·Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications
·Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to management for consideration and implementation
·Good knowledge of telephone systems (Mitel and Skype)
