Shared Service Team Leader

Based Golborne

The Team Leader (Project Support function), has responsibility for the operational delivery of key finance process and administrative activities (processing, reporting and compliance). Project Support Coordinators (PSCs) support civil engineering Project Managers on Murphy client projects, helping to ensure smooth running and efficient operational delivery. The Project Support function relieves the individual sites of the administrative, financial and procurement burden associated with complex and fast-paced engineering solutions.

The Shared Service Team Leader will:

Day-to-day management of c10 competent employees, and all associated tasks, including the ongoing development of the team

Own reporting and data analytics

Be responsible for maintaining key senior site based relationships, in particular with the Project and Site Manager

Understand the P2P process of the entire Finance Shared Service

Be responsible for ensuring Murphy project managers are supported in a consistent, standard way for small and medium scale projects (typically less than £15m)

The onboarding of new PSM to ensure that standard practices are carried out for all Murphy projects

Making the appropriate interventions (e.g. highlighting lack of process compliance) upon collecting/reviewing metrics to support SLA reporting and team performance monitoring

Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement and of sharing best practice amongst the team

The role holder will support all Murphy Business Units (which may contain Joint Ventures). You will be required to line manage c. 10 team members in total. The team members will be located in the SSC, and will have a reporting line into this role.

Experience required:

Experience working in the Construction, Plant, Engineering, Project Management or similar industry

Would suit an individual with previous experience in a P2P, Accounts Payable or similar Shared Service environment

Managing staff in a process orientated team; finance, plant, purchasing, customer service

Team lead/management experience - day-to-day, training, mentorship, development

Reporting and data analytics experience; happy in this space and comfortable with the systems and processes required to deliver meaningful data

Experienced relationship manager

Working knowledge of MS Office products
