Perhaps you are a CNC Miller that has been setting, performing some programming of fixtures on the machine control and you have not been given the opportunity fully develop your programming skills with 2D & 3DCAD/CAM systems?

Our client subcontract machining company, manufacturing components for aerospace, medical, electronics and scientific equipment manufacturers. They process prototype, low to medium batch production in aluminium, engineering plastics, stainless and tool steels.

Working under the direct supervision of the Milling Team Leader and Manufacturing and Quality Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for CNC programming, setting and operating CNC Bridgeport/Heidenhain & Doosan/Fanuc 3 and 4 axis vertical machining centres. The role involves managing and prioritising workflow to maximise production efficiency, on time delivery and ensure the consistent "better than the norm" quality of the items being manufactured.

Candidate Profile:

- Demonstrate alignment and the ability to live and work by company values.
- Self-starter and a team player with the desire to work in a progressive company.
- A minimum 10 years, practical knowledge and experience programming setting and operating CNC 3 and 4 axis vertical machining centres. Off line CAD/CAM programing experience would be an advantage but training would be provided to a good candidate that lacked experience in this area.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop manufacturing methods.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload in a changing environment.
- Analytical thinking with problem solving skills
- Personable with good people skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships, mentor and train other employees. 8. Have a continuous improvement focus.

Job Responsibilities

The position requires an individual to be efficient and competent at:

- Demonstrate alignment and the ability to live and work by company values.
- Planning, programming with CAD/CAM systems, setting and operating multiple CNC Bridgeport/Heidenhain & Doosan/Fanuc 3 and 4 axis vertical machining centres.
- Setting and operating manual metal cutting machinery, e.g. centre lathes, vertical milling machines, surface grinders.
- Conforming to the inspection and paperwork requirements ISO 9001.
- Contributing to weekly departmental meetings and the company`s continuous improvement activities.
- Assisting with mentoring apprentices and cross training fellow employees.
- Tool fitting and other assembly work as required.
- Assisting with material deliveries as required.

Standard hours:
Mon - Thursday: 7.30 am to 5.00 pm, 30 minute lunch break.
Friday: 7.30 am to 12.30pm.
41hour a week.

Hourly rate to attract the best and is dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. Ample opportunity for overtime at 1.4 times hourly rate
