German Speaking Food Promotions Manager - 12 month Maternity Cover - Wimbledon, South West London

An opportunity has arisen in a highly turnover driven environment for a confident, dynamic and highly organised individual to join the Food Promotions Team on a 12 month contract. You will make decisions that will impact the success of each and every Lidl store on a weekly basis. If you are pro-active, independent, and have a passion for leadership, retail and trade, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What will you do?
  • Weekly planning of Limited Offer promotional lines and price promotions
  • Leading and developing a team
  • Reporting of departmental turnover figures and playing a key part in evaluating what is driving the category and where areas for improvement might fall
  • Ensuring commercial KPIs (Margin and Profitability) are met by offering products which are trade driving and commercially viable
  • Responsible for market observation, product range expansion and analysis
  • Liaising daily with various internal, external and international stakeholders
  • Supporting and gaining exposure to other areas of the department during critical periods such as Christmas
  • Managing several different projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Making fast decisions in a time pressured environment
  • Building relationships with our suppliers to plan and optimise the promotional calendar

What will you need?
  • Intermediate German skills both spoken and written
  • Previous line management experience
  • A strong multi-tasker with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Highly focused and accurate, with intermediate Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • An analytical and strategic mind-set with the ability to use own initiative
  • An excellent communicator with the confidence and composure to deal with entrusted tasks
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks
  • Confident presenting findings or outcomes to senior management
  • The confidence to make tough decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines
  • A high degree of adaptability
  • A business-minded approach; commercially savvy and resilient
  • A full UK Drivers licence is essential
