Role based in Warrington

Working for a global FMCG company we are looking for an experienced Environmental Advisor who has manufacturing experience. It is essential that you that you come from a Manufacturing background and have strong Environmental Experience as well as Health & Safety. This is a challenging role and requires a strong individual.

Main Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for supporting and overseeing all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, standards and processes as well as managing all Risk and COSHH assessments.
Your tasks will include tackling health & safety issues on site and driving a positive safety culture.
You will be dealing with employees at all levels across the business and will need work closely with the Operations, Maintenance and HR departments to achieve your objectives. You will also be required to deliver training and deal with stakeholders.
You will ensure Company safety policy, rules and procedures are understood and followed in all areas and be responsible for confirming the reporting and analysis of incidents using the proper procedures resultant actions are implemented.
The site operates to a World Class Manufacturing framework and as such you will need to be conversant with the tools for safety and environmental management.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

Lead the site Environmental agenda including ownership of the Environmental Management System and site engagement on environmental issues
Reduce the site's environmental impact in the areas of COD, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, SOx & CO2 emissions and water & energy consumption
Lead the Environmental Pillar and provide support for the Safety Pillar in accordance with ManEx
Develop a thorough understanding of guidelines and procedures for Process Safety assessment (SIMAS)
Drive safety and environment risk assessment and develop/implement appropriate controls
Provide support to Operational and Technical teams in carrying out Risk and COSHH assessments, managing the assessment database and ensure all assessments are current.
Influence senior management and drive safety and environmental leadership through line management
Support for the development of agreed annual OSHE improvement plans, goals and targets with the OSHEQ Manager and other relevant site head of departments and deliver on improvement items.
Monitor site legal compliance and ensure the site meets all local/national regulatory requirements and company standards, provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies
Support the OSHE Manager in leading serious incident investigation and analysis
Advise line management in all accident/incident investigations
Develop and deploy internal SHE auditing and inspection systems
Determine training needs and assist in delivery of training programs


NEBOSH diploma
Environmental degree preferred
Detailed knowledge of SHE Legalisation and their application to the Manufacturing Unit
Fully trained and competent in carrying out Risk and COSHH Assessments
Competent in performing Accident analysis
Significant manufacturing experience that provides the necessary technical and leadership experience to operate effectively in a World Class Manufacturing site; able build and motivate a large team, as well as coach it to success.


Experience of manufacturing in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company.
Environmental qualification preferred (e.g. Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Auditor)
A depth of knowledge on COMAH legislation, due to the site being lower tier COMAH
